Today I’m borrowing an idea from one of my favorite bloggers, Andrea Dekker, and sharing a few of my favorite things.
The items below are things I use all the time and make my life so much easier/happier. It’s an eclectic bunch but that’s how I roll…
The Bed Buddy Hot and Cold Pack
I’ll be honest, I’ve never used this cold. I’ve only used it as a heating pad but it’s fabulous for that. I throw it in the microwave for a minute and a half and it gets toasty warm. This thing has been used non-stop for the past month or so as I’ve battled a nasty sinus infection. I warm it up at bed time and drape it over my face and it’s almost instant relief on my poor sinuses.
It’s also great if you have a sore back or shoulder and the design makes it easy to drape over your sore muscles. My bed buddy is old and worn out and it’s about time to replace it. You can now purchase one that’s Eucalyptus or Lavender scented so I’ll definitely be upgrading.
Nyquil
Cherry-flavored Nyquil (and the generic brands work perfectly fine) is a fabulous creation. I am terrible about going to the doctor and Nyquil is my go to remedy for most ailments. A good shot of Nyquil before bed when you’re feeling bad and you go right to sleep. I know, it’s a weird thing to put on here but I do love it.
Keurig K-Mini
This was a splurge for myself at Christmas this past year. You know how I love to go to the bookstore and browse the store and write. Well, I got to where I was spending way too much on those Venti sized Chai Tea Lattes every time I went to Barnes and Noble.
I never thought I’d really use a Keurig and I also (mistakenly) thought they wouldn’t be cost-effective because of the cost of the pods. Definitely was wrong about that. I can get a 16 pack of Chai Tea pods at Target for $9.99. That works out to about 63 cents for an 8 ounce Chai, which is the size this Keurig prepares. Granted, I generally got a venti-sized Chai at my local Barnes and Noble and that’s 20 ounces. I normally only drink one serving at home but if I wanted to make a double helping we’re talking a cost of a $1.26 versus $4.50+ out.
My Jen Sincero Bad-Ass Planner
I’m very particular about my planners. This one is great, just like Jen Sincero herself. It’s a monthly/weekly planner with inspirational quotes from Jen on each page. There’s a habit tracker for each month. So far, I’ve tracked my daily water intake, my number of no-spend days, and the number of days I’ve exercised for the month. There are planning sheets at the end of the planner for the next year and a handy pocket in the front.
What do you think? A crazy selection of favorite things? What’s something crazy you can’t live without?
