It’s that time again. I was trying to decide what to write this week and I realized I hadn’t done one of my favorite posts for nearly a year and a half. Time to remedy that.

The Library

I love the library. I am a huge reader so obviously the books are a huge draw for me but my library (and probably yours too) has so much more to offer.  You can check out magazines, DVD’s, audio books, and even laptops.

Need to use one of their computers? Yep, that’s free also. Just sign up for a time slot. Prefer to use your own? My library has tons of tables, rooms, and nooks and many of them even have charging ports.

They also hold various classes and programs that are free. Some of the programs offered at mine include children story time, computer classes, resume’ writing assistance, teen movie night, and cooking demonstrations.

Apple Watch

My first fitness watch was a Fitbit. It was okay for quite a bit but the bands kept breaking and they stopped wanting to replace them. My cousin offered me his wife’s old Apple watch when they upgraded and I LOVE it.

The Apple watch is a bit pricey but there are several versions available and you can always get a previous version to cut costs a bit. Mine is the first version and it still does so much. The goal, fitness-wise, is to close all three rings-Move, Exercise, and Stand each day. I’m very goal-oriented on almost all aspects of my life so this is perfect motivation for me because I hate getting to the end of the day and seeing that one or more of my rings are not closed.

Other benefits of the watch for me include the fact that my Iphone’s caller ID appears on my watch and also my texts. I can track my daily steps, set various workouts during my gym time, and even monitor my heart rate.

I definitely plan on upgrading to a newer version when this watch dies because they keep adding more features. And did I mention you can swap out the watch bands for different looks as well?

GermGuardian Air Purifier

I have horrible allergies. My ENT advised me to get an air purifier for at least my bedroom. This is fabulous. It’s relatively quiet even on the medium fan setting. It has a HEPA filter and a charcoal filter. The filters are advertised to last 6-8 months and that’s pretty accurate, even with me leaving it on non-stop. My version also has a UV-C light, which honestly, I rarely use. I buy generic filters on Amazon and they last just as long as the name brand.

Happy Color App

I’m not sure why I’m putting this on here because I’m going to feel really bad when a bunch of you leave a comment telling me you’re addicted to this app. It’s very simple. It’s a big coloring book on your phone. I’ve had this app for several years and I’m a little embarrassed to tell you how many pictures I’ve colored. (It’s 5047! and counting). This app was a life saver when I was stuck at home following my nose surgery and my Covid Isolation.

There you have it. Some of my summer favorites. Any favorite things you’d like to share with me?
